A remarkable Zapotec terracotta incense holder from the Monte Albán region of Oaxaca, Mexico. This expressive figure represents a seated lord holding a trophy head, with a bowl and knife in his hands—symbols of ritual power and ceremonial practice. The headdress features a jaguar head, while feathered wings and motifs of feathers, leaves, and corn surround the figure, all characteristic elements of Zapotec iconography.

Entirely hand-made, with its original patina preserved, this piece embodies the spiritual depth and artistic mastery of early 20th-century indigenous craftsmanship. In good condition, rare and highly collectible.
