This is a refined and imposing vintage Chinese Blanc de Chine porcelain statue depicting Guanyin (Kwan Yin), the Bodhisattva of Compassion and Mercy. The goddess is elegantly captured in a classic standing pose, draped in flowing robes with soft, fluid drapery, holding a long-stemmed lotus bud.

The hand holding the lotus stem is completely removable. This traditional manufacturing technique was designed to prevent damage to the delicate fingers and stem during firing and transit, and it has kept this piece beautifully intact.
MARKINGS & AUTHENTICITY
The unglazed underside features a red ink stamp/marking, highly characteristic of Chinese art and antiquities certified for export during the mid-20th century (Republic period / 1960s).
