A beautiful and distinctive Black Madonna of Częstochowa triptych icon, depicting the Virgin Mary and Child, flanked by the Archangels Michael and Gabriel.
The central image is recognizable as Our Lady of Częstochowa, also known as the Black Madonna of Jasna Góra, distinguished by the characteristic marks on the Virgin’s right cheek that are an iconic feature of the Częstochowa image.
The three panels are finely decorated with 925 silver, richly worked in relief with ornamental details. The silver-covered panels are mounted on an imposing carved wooden base with elegant scrollwork and decorative carving.
The 925 hallmark is clearly visible on both side panels.
