A charming and unusual French musical decanter dating from the 1950s, a refined piece of Mid-Century barware combining decorative design, Swiss musical craftsmanship, and liquor service in one elegant object.
The cylindrical body is decorated with vintage Champagne and Cognac labels inspired by famous French maisons such as G.H. Mumm “Cordon Rouge” and Martell, evoking the sophisticated atmosphere of post-war French cocktail culture and luxury advertising of the era. The brass-toned crown lid gives the piece an elegant tavern or champagne cellar aesthetic typical of French decorative objects from the 1950s.
The upper section functions as a removable lid and reveals the hidden glass decanter inside. The musical mechanism activates automatically when the decanter is lifted and stops when placed back into position. The winding key is located underneath the base.
