An Elegant Murano Water Bird — Sommerso, 1960s Add a touch of timeless Venetian elegance to your collection or home with this magnificent Murano art glass sculpture. Entirely handmade, this figurine depicts an elegant stylized water bird with a slender, elongated neck.

ARTISTIC DETAILS & TECHNIQUE

· Sommerso Technique: The body shows superb mastery of the sommerso technique, where a core of vibrant, deep red is enclosed in successive layers of amber and clear glass, creating an exceptional play of refraction in the light

· Unique Front with Gold Inclusions: The front features an unusual and rare workmanship, rich in gold powder inclusions (aventurine), interspersed with material patches of amber color and small touches of aqua green

· Artistic Manufacture & Hot Details: The bird is welded hot directly onto its solid, textured "rock" base. The transparent wings feature fascinating micro air bubbles (bulicante) trapped in the glass — an unmistakable signature of artisanal furnace work. The base is finished entirely hot, with no cold grinding on the bottom

· Attribution & Style: The slender line, the quality of the glass, and the design are strongly inspired by the great mid-20th-century manufactories, with strong references to the style and iconic production of Seguso Vetri d'Arte or the creations of Flavio Poli. While there is no engraved signature, the exceptional quality of execution testifies to the hand of a great Muranese master

On the side is the original circular gold metal label reading "Made in Italy - Murano" , in excellent condition for its age.
