A Pop of 1980s Design — International AF-889 A splendid and iconic analog portable radio, the International AF-889, dating from the late 1980s (circa 1988–1991). A perfect example of Space Age / Pop design, characterized by a glossy, vibrant red plastic body with a black protective speaker grille.
This model represents a genuine piece of Italian electronics market history: on the back is the original metal/adhesive label, fully intact, bearing the historic approval data of the former Italian Ministry of Post and Telecommunications (Ministerial Decrees of 25.6.1985 and 27.08.81, protocol No. 4/02342/12513) — evidence of Asian imports before the advent of the CE mark.
The radio is perfectly functional and in excellent aesthetic and structural condition. The rear telescopic antenna is straight, intact, and extends without issue. It comes with its original black flexible nylon wrist strap.
