This impressive large-scale Madonna sculpture is an exceptional example of early 20th-century European sacred art. Entirely handmade in majolica, it features a beautifully vitrified enamel surface that enhances the gentle modeling of the figure and gives the composition a subtle spiritual radiance. The sculpture stands on its original natural stone base, signed on the back by the Belgian artist Ernest Patris (1909–1981), a highly regarded sculptor known for his refined craftsmanship and expressive religious works.

Created in the 1930s, this piece reflects the elegance and stylistic purity of the interwar period, while remaining deeply intimate and devotional. With its striking height of 54 cm, it has a commanding presence, making it ideal for collectors, interior decorators, or lovers of European sacred sculpture.

The work is in excellent condition, with no restorations, preserving its authenticity and artistic integrity.
