A remarkably well-preserved and very rare 1960s German HO scale train set, produced by GGF (Georg Grötsch Fürth) in collaboration with Fischermann, featuring a precious combination of early plastics and bakelite technology. This set includes a battery-operated locomotive made of authentic bakelite, an uncommon and highly desirable material for collectors of early model trains.
The locomotive runs perfectly (see video) and comes with its original forward and reverse control box, powered by a 4.5v battery (included). Accompanying the engine are four carriages, two of which are designed with opening doors on both sides, showcasing a level of craftsmanship rarely seen in toy trains of the era.
The layout includes 12 curved tracks and 6 straight tracks, all marked Fischermann, allowing the circuit to be assembled to a generous size. Still housed in its original box, this is an exceptional collectible for enthusiasts of early Deutsche Bundesbahn models and mid-century German toy engineering.
