This elegant ceramic wall plate features a refined hand-painted portrait inspired by the unmistakable style of Amedeo Modigliani, one of the most recognizable figures of early twentieth-century modern art. The subject, portrayed in profile with the characteristic elongated neck and serene expression, strongly recalls the celebrated portraits Modigliani created of Jeanne Hébuterne, whose delicate features frequently appeared in his paintings.

The plate is finely executed with careful brushwork and subtle color transitions. The elongated facial proportions, almond-shaped eye, and warm skin tones contrast beautifully with the expressive blue and green background. The signature at the lower left appears to be hand-painted, reinforcing the impression that this was individually decorated rather than mass-printed.

On the reverse, the mark “Nove P.T. Italy” is impressed in the clay. The town of Nove has been one of the most important Italian centers of ceramic production since the eighteenth century, renowned for its artistic pottery workshops. Pieces bearing this type of mark are generally associated with decorative ceramic production from the mid-20th century, often between the 1960s.

The plate has slightly rounded corners and is fitted on the back with small holes and a metal wire, allowing it to be easily hung on the wall as a decorative artwork. It works beautifully either as part of a gallery wall or as a single statement piece combining Italian craftsmanship with the timeless aesthetic of Modigliani’s portraiture.
