THE ARTWORK MANIFESTO

A rare work of conceptual art titled "Evoluzione", created by designer Diego Casella. This piece explores the boundary between digital reproduction and the irrepeatable human gesture.
The entire structure of the work is realized through digital printing, which reproduces an open book with a Déco frame and the artist's original painting "The Guardian" (1981). The artist has deliberately chosen to keep the digital interface marks — such as the word "Edit" and the arrow icon — visible, in order to declare the technological nature of the support and its origin as a system screenshot.
The beating heart of the work lies exclusively in the left register, where Diego Casella has physically intervened by hand. In this space, the artist has traced dynamic signs charged with tension: lines that seem to "fly" across the paper, leaving micro-points of adhesion. This manual intervention, deliberate and searching, represents the human soul reappropriating the technological medium, transforming a common print into a unique archival piece.
Signed at the lower right, outside the perimeter of the book, to affirm the artist's mastery over the global vision of the work.

ARTIST NOTE
Diego Casella is an Italian artist born in Piacenza in 1954. After the early loss of his young wife, herself a gifted artist, he left Italy and spent many years travelling and working across different countries. During this long period of movement and reflection he continued to develop a deeply personal artistic language rooted in European painting traditions and symbolic imagery. Today his work reflects a lifelong search for meaning, memory, and inner vision.
